Chikako Takase

Chikako Takase is Programme Officer, Division for Sustainable Development at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs where he works on biodiversity as well as sustainable tourism and solid waste management. From November 1996 to July 1999, Dr. Takase was seconded to the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity and worked on economic aspects of biodiversity.
Prior to this, Dr. Takase served as an Associate Expert for UNIDO. He received his MA in development economics from the University of Sussex.

As of Jan 1, 2007, the advisory work formerly carried out by the Millennium Project secretariat team is being continued by an MDG Support team integrated under the United Nations Development Program.
