Nina Schwalbe

Nina Schwalbe has been Director of the Open Society Institute's Network Public Health Program since March of 2001. For two years before that, she directed the foundation's health activities in Russia and served as the deputy director of the network program. Prior to working at OSI, Ms. Schwalbe managed country programs for Russia, Ukraine and Moldova at Engender Health. With an undergraduate degree from Harvard University in Soviet Studies, she completed a Master's degree in Public Health at Columbia University and holds a certificate from the Harriman Institute. She has worked on a broad range of health issues and has extensive experience in Southeast Asia and Central and Eastern Europe/Former Soviet Union.
