Sara J. Scherr is presently a Senior Policy Analyst of Forest Trends and Senior Advisor to the Future Harvest Foundation. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Agricultural and Resource Economics Department of the University of Maryland at College Park. Dr. Scherr's research focuses on policies to promote ecosystem services in working landscapes; policies to reduce poverty through natural resource conservation and sustainable product and service markets; and the economic impacts of land degradation and rehabilitation. Dr. Scherr received her Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics at Cornell University.
As of Jan 1, 2007, the advisory work formerly carried out by the Millennium Project secretariat team is being continued by an MDG Support team integrated under the United Nations Development Program.
