David Satterthwaite

David Satterthwaite is a Senior Fellow at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and also on the teaching staff of the London School of Economics and of University College London. He has been the editor of the international journal Environment and Urbanization from its inception in 1989. Most of his work is on poverty reduction in urban areas in Africa, Asia and Latin America, undertaken with local teams. He has advised various international agencies including UNICEF, World Health Organization, OECD, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the European Commission, DFID, DANIDA and the Brundtland Commission . Dr. Satterthwaite received a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
