Eloan dos Santos Pinheiro

Eloan dos Santos Pinheiro is the Executive Director of the Manguinhos Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology, Brazil. She is a committed activist focused on promoting health and human rights. In 1973 she started her career in the private pharmaceutical sector as the head of new product development at Sidney Ross Co. and Beecham Laboratory. In 1987, she chose to pursue her interest in the public pharmaceutical sector and went to Vital Brazil Institute, where she carried out both R&D and production activities. Two years later, she moved to the Institute of Drug Technology (Far-Manguinhos), which is a part of Oswaldo Cruz Foundation and is the official laboratory of the Ministry of Health. Throughout her career, Eloan has been dedicated to improving the quality of life and health for Brazilians and strives to broaden her activities to include support of the human rights of people in developing countries. She holds a degree in Chemistry.
