Mario Raviglione
Mario Raviglione is the Coordinator of the Stop TB Partnership for the World Health Organization, and is currently chairing the DOTS Expansion Working Group of the Stop TB Partnership. In this role, he has been responsible for global DOTS expansion, and development of new policies and strategies, including those on TB/HIV, MDR-TB, community TB care and Public-Private Mix DOTS. In the mid-1990s, he was responsible for establishing the global anti-TB drug resistance surveillance project and the global TB surveillance and monitoring project. Dr. Raviglione holds a medical degree from the University of Turin in Italy, and has specialized in internal medicine, infectious diseases, and AIDS. |
