Jonathan Patz

Jonathan Patz is Associate Professor and Director of the Global Environmental Health Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment (SAGE) at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Since 1994, he has been lead author on four United Nations assessment reports, including the Second and Third Assessment reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and WHO monograph on climate change. He is Co-editor for the upcoming journal, Ecology and Health and Co-editor of the textbook, Ecosystem Change and Public Health: A Global Perspective (2001). His areas of research investigation include effects of climate change on air pollution and water- & vector-borne diseases, as well as the link between deforestation and resurgent diseases in the Amazon. Dr. Patz has an MD from the Case Western Reserve University and an MPH from Johns Hopkins.
