Martin Markowitz

Martin Markowitz is currently the Clinical Director at the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center. He has worked with Dr. David Ho for the past 10 years on a variety of projects, the most prominent of which were studies which formed the scientific rationale for combination antiviral therapy. He is a graduate of the Stanford University School of Medicine and trained in Hematology and Medical Oncology as well as Infectious Diseases. His areas of expertise include the use of antiviral agents to treat HIV infection and drug resistance. He has served as consultant to groups in Haiti and Kenya.

As of Jan 1, 2007, the advisory work formerly carried out by the Millennium Project secretariat team is being continued by an MDG Support team integrated under the United Nations Development Program.
