Renate Koch

Renate Koch is the Regional Secretary for the Latin American and Caribbean Council of AIDS Service Organizations. She specializes on Human Rights and Ethics, and has actively advocated for the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS, including the legal actions to obtain universal access to ARV treatment for all Venezuelans and residents. During the UNGASS preparatory process, she participated actively on civil society meetings, and played a key role on the formation of National UNGASS Working Groups and the dissemination of information and up-dates in the region. Following, she took part on the civil society consultations for the establishment of the Global Fund to fight AIDS (GFATM), tuberculosis and malaria, and is actually member of the Latin American and Caribbean Delegation to the Fund. She is a linguist and economist, and graduated from Hamburg University.
