Maite Irurzun-Lopez

Maite Irurzun-Lopez is an Economic Affairs Officer at the UN Economic Commission for Africa, working under the Economic and Social Policy Division as the HIV/AIDS focal point. Ms. Lopez is a Social Economist who specializes in HIV/AIDS issues in the African region. Previous professional experience includes work with the Poverty Reduction Department of IDS, the Social Policy Division of the Asian Development Bank based in Manila (The Philippines), Southern Health Improvement Sanity (SHIS) Tuberculosis Hospital in Calcutta (India), Department of International Economics at Javeriana University (Colombia), Monitoring and Evaluation Office of Valencia Regional Government (Spain), and ASEFIC consultant for small and medium enterprises. She received an MPhil in Development Studies at the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex.
