Chris Hentschel
Chris Hentschel is Chief Executive Officer and Board member of the Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) a not-for-profit Geneva-based Foundation. He also currently serves as a non-executive director for a number of European biotechnology companies. Prior to joining MMV, he was Chief Scientific Officer of the US biotechnology company Centocor where he remained until its merger with Johnson & Johnson in 1999. Prior to this, from 1978 to 1997 Dr. Hentschel was Chief Executive Officer and Scientific Director of the UK Medical Research Council's Collaborative Centre where he managed more than forty drug discovery and development collaborations with both global pharma and biotechnology companies. He has an honours degree and PhD in biochemistry from King's College, University of London and has held numerous research fellowships in the UK. |
