Dr. Jaap Broekmans

Dr. Jaap Broekmans is Director of the Royal Netherlands Tuberculosis Association (KNCV). He also chairs the Strategic Technical Advisory Group – Tuberculosis (STAG-TB) at the World Health Organization and sits on the Board of Directors of the International Union against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease. Dr. Broekmans has long been involved in the fight against Tuberculosis. Among his many roles in the Tuberculosis community, he has held positions as Chairman of the Netherlands Platform for Cooperation in International Tuberculosis, and Secretary of the National Tuberculosis Policy Committee in the Netherlands. In addition, he has served as Senior Consultant to the National Tuberculosis Programs in Tanzania, Vietnam, and China. Dr. Broekmans holds an MD from the University of Amsterdam and an MPH from the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health.
