Nils E. Billo

Nils E. Billo is the Executive Director of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (IUATLD) . The IUATLD is an experienced NGO with pioneer work in tuberculosis (development of the DOTS strategy), in the management of asthma and in the management of pneumonia in children under five in developing countries. Dr Billo is member of the Stop TB Coordinating Board and President of the International Non Governmental Coalition Against Tobacco. Before joining the IUATLD he was head of the Epidemiology Section of the Federal Office of Public Health in Switzerland.

As of Jan 1, 2007, the advisory work formerly carried out by the Millennium Project secretariat team is being continued by an MDG Support team integrated under the United Nations Development Program.
