David Beckmann

David Beckmann is President of Bread for the World, a Christian citizens' movement against hunger, and the Bread for the World Institute. In this role, he has helped to win debt relief for poor countries, improve U.S. aid through the Horn of Africa Act of 1990 and the Africa Seeds of Hope Act of 1998. Prior to this, Rev. Beckmann worked as the Senior Advisor to the World Bank on nongovernmental organizations. He has earned degrees from Yale University, Christ Seminary and the London School of Economics.
