Kamel Ayadi

In November 2004 Kamel Ayadi was appointed by the President of the Republic of Tunisia to the post of Secretary of State to the Minister of Public Works and Equipment. Previously, he was appointed by presidential decree in May of 2001 as President of the Tunisian National Authority of Regulation of Telecommunications. Since 1999, he has also been Vice President of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) and President of WFEO's Committee on Information and Communication. He is an expert in information and communication technologies (ICT) and in particular, the regulatory issues of ICT. He has wide experience in the design, management and realization of large-scale wastewater projects. He has organized, and lectured in, many congresses and conferences on ICT and environment issues.

Kamel Ayadi was formerly Head of the International Cooperation Department at the Waste Water Department (ONAS) and Director of Technical Cooperation at ONAS. He served as President of the Tunisian Order of Engineers from 1998-2002 and as Secretary-General from 1990-1998. Appointed by presidential decree to the Tunisian Social and Economic Council, he was also awarded by the President in 2001, the status of 'Engineer General' in recognition of his outstanding professional experience. He received his civil and environmental engineering degree from the National Institute of Engineers and his post-graduate degree from the Tunis University of Law.
