Produce

Melons are one of the most successful crops of the garden. The women also grow potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, shallots, ocra, cucumbers, lettuce and cabbage.

It is difficult to sell the produce at the weekly market in neighboring Dioro because of the expensive commute. Lack of equipment makes tending to the garden particularly strenuous.

The women unanimously agree that having a water pump would make their labor considerably less intensive as it would bring the water to the top of the well more easily and efficiently.
